I was approached on vgen to cover this song! It is always so interesting to receive requests, and in particular this one because I first got into doujin music because of Touhou.

It isn't my usual genre so I took it on with the intent of having to make some adjustments to things to make it suit my voice more. Like figuring out how to do the harmonies in my own way since the original is with 2 sings that have contrasting voices. I went for lots of overdubbing so it could be mixed more in my style of being a bit more atmospheric. I think its also just me being a bit self-conscious with rock songs.

I did my best to capture the adlibby words… I treated them more like coined word since I have no idea what they are actually singing. I think they sound pretty close! I added an additional harmony layer there too!

When I was asked to also reinterpret the lyrics into English I thought a long time about what the cryptic message of the original was saying. Its so poetic and the literal translation is a bit hard to follow. I didn't want to make it too clear and lose the mystery entirely, so I think this is a happy medium. I think my favorite lyric is:
Kings, tyrants,
How boldly they stand
A nameless monster, left only as a model

Overall, a fun song that was somewhat out of my comfort zone! One of my favorite singing parts is at 3:45 when my vibrato syncs with the guitar. LOL

私のいつものジャンルではないので、自分の声にもっと合うようにいろいろと調整するつもりで引き受けました。原曲は対照的な声の2人の歌い手なので、自分なりにハーモニーをどうするか考えたり。オーバーダビングを多用することで、僕のスタイルであるもう少し雰囲気のあるミックスになるようにしたんだ。また、ロック・ソングはちょっと自意識過剰なんだ。

アドリブの言葉は、なるべくそのままに……。彼らが実際に何を歌っているのかわからないから、造語のように扱ったんだ。かなり近いと思う！そこにハーモニーのレイヤーも追加した！

歌詞の英語への再解釈を依頼されたとき、原曲の暗号のようなメッセージが何を言っているのか、長い間考えた。とても詩的で、直訳はちょっと難しい。あまりはっきりさせすぎて、謎がまったくなくなってしまうのも嫌だったので、これは幸せな中庸だと思う。私が一番好きな歌詞は
王たち、暴君たち、
なんと大胆に立ちはだかるのだろう
名もなき怪物、モデルとしてのみ残された

全体的に、私のコンフォートゾーンから多少外れた楽しい曲だった！私の好きな歌のパートのひとつは、3:45で私のビブラートがギターとシンクロするところです。笑
