Heyyyyy everyone !!! HAPPY HALLOWEEEEEEEN !!
Hope everyone’s having a spooky one, summoning spirits with ouija boards, hunting ghosts in abandoned asylums and summoning demons with the BLOOD of the chicken you ate for lunch !! (for real, hope you’re not doing any of those above, and play horror games or watch horror movies at worst !)
I AM SO HAPPY I GET TO UPLOAD SOMETHING FOR YOU ON HALLOWEEN DAY !! Last time I did so was in 2014 when I released my arrange of Macaron and never managed to do it again afterwards but NOW IT’S HAPPENING !! Hehehehehhehe !!!
Few months ago, my gf got offered the first books of Chainsaw Man, which was a shonen manga Anba had told me about years ago. “You need to read it Vuvu, it’s really good !!” and I’d answer the usual “Yeah when I have time ~” (sorry for the delay Anba). I IMMEDIATELY fell in love with this manga. I think this is the best shonen manga I’ve read in a decade. The story is tastefully written, the art is pure gold, and the characters' interactions are (finally) not the usual cliché you get served. I can only bow down before Fujimoto sensei here for his current masterpiece .
The anime started mid october and … to be honest I was purposefully making time to cover at least 1 song out of all the Opening and/or Ending songs of the anime. I like Millenium Parades x Kenshi Yonezu’s “Kickback” but I find it a bit too “okay”. However !!! My love for Vaundy skyrocketed when I first heard this song from him at the end of episode 1 and immediately started arranging and recording it.
2 weeks later, here it is !!
To be honest, this was a very refreshing song to play and sing. It made me re-discover a brit-rock vibe I hadn’t listened to since I was 18. The song made me discover areas of my voice I forgot I had.
This was quite a tight deadline to meet while also having to record a custom MV. All of the footages were recorded in 2 or 3 sessions, between 10pm and 2am last week. The video was edited in 1 day and I was fortunate to have Ryuugen’s help and expertise on the kinetic typography.
Another refreshing aspect was the fact that I had to commit to a hard deadline, which I hadn’t done since 2020 (the last time I got into a Chorus battle).
Anyway, hope you guys are having a fun Halloween and do not forget that POCHITA WILL RULE OUR WORLD uh- uh ? . . . Halloween, halloween, halloween, halloween, halloween … halloween.
