Content Removal Request

(For Artists, Copyright Holders, and Agents)

vtubes.tokyo is a non-profit, ad-free, and privately operated platform created out of passion for the VTuber and singer community. My goal is to make it easier for fans to discover music covers, original songs, and livestreams. The platform organizes and showcases publicly available YouTube content.

Additionally, I actively promote the artists and their releases on my social media channels on X, Threads, Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, and Mastodon.

Important Technical Information

  • Video embedding: The videos themselves are not stored or hosted on this server. They are loaded directly from YouTube via iFrame embedding. When playing a video, data (IP address, device information, etc.) is sent to YouTube (Google Ireland Limited). Google’s privacy policy applies here: https://policies.google.com/privacy

  • Thumbnails: These are retrieved using the YouTube Data API v3 and cached to the technically necessary extent to improve load times. This cache complies with the YouTube API Terms of Service. The images are not used for tracking or commercial purposes (profit generation). They are used exclusively for display on the platform and for the free promotion of the artists on my social media channels. Thumbnails are regularly deleted.

  • Social media preview cards: For technical reasons, some graphics serving as replacements for regular preview cards are sent directly from YouTube to some of the aforementioned social media platforms when I share posts to promote the artists.

  • Privacy: The display of thumbnails does not collect or process any personal data from visitors.

Information that should be included in your request:

  • Channel name and YouTube Channel ID (e.g., UCxxxxxxxxxxxx).

  • Optional: Video ID or YouTube link of the specific video.

  • Scope of removal (e.g., “Entire channel”, “Only specific videos”, “No social media posts”, “Only thumbnails”).

Documentation to prove your authorization (to prevent abuse): To ensure the request genuinely comes from you, I require one of the following proofs:

  • Method 1 (Recommended): A screenshot from your YouTube Studio (https://studio.youtube.com) clearly showing your access to the channel (e.g., the dashboard with the channel name).

  • Method 2: Send your request from the email address publicly listed for business inquiries on your YouTube channel’s “About” tab.

  • For Agents/Management: Send the email from the agency’s official domain or provide clear proof of authorization.

Response after approval: I carefully review the submitted documents. A response is usually provided within 24 hours (often much faster) and is, of course, free of charge.

  1. The channel/video will be permanently removed from my system and excluded from future manual additions.

  2. Existing display elements, cached thumbnails, and scheduled social media posts will be removed.

  3. I will send you a final confirmation report via email.

Confidentiality: All request details and submitted documents are treated with strict confidentiality and are not shared with third parties. After processing the request, all submitted data is irrevocably deleted. Thumbnails will not be stored after the processing period has expired.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Why are thumbnails cached? This is a technical optimization to improve load times in accordance with the YouTube API Terms of Service. Furthermore, the images are used solely for the free promotion of artists on social media, and at no time for tracking or commercial purposes.

2. Is the video itself downloaded or saved? No. The video remains on YouTube and is only displayed as an embedded video (iFrame).

3. How long are the thumbnails stored? They are deleted regularly. Upon request, I will delete them immediately.

4. Is special proof required? I only require clear but simple proof to prevent abuse by third parties (see above). A screenshot from YouTube Studio is the easiest way.

5. What happens after the request? I will remove the respective channel/video from my system and delete the existing display as well as social media posts. You will receive a final confirmation from me.

6. Can I request to be relisted later? Yes. Simply contact me via email if you change your mind.

7. Is vtubes.tokyo affiliated with an agency or company? No. The platform is run by me as an individual, is non-profit, and completely ad-free.

8. Does displaying my video affect my views and revenue? No, quite the opposite. Since the video is embedded directly from YouTube on my site, all views, likes, and comments are credited to your channel as usual. Additionally, the links I share on my social media platforms lead directly to your YouTube videos without any detours, driving traffic straight to your channel.

9. Why was my channel registered? I manually integrate new artists and channels by hand. There are no automated scripts that randomly add channels. Your channel was added because it caught my eye in a positive way and I would like to support your content.

10. Can I highlight or prioritize certain channels? No. All artists are treated equally. There are no paid or prioritized features. Sorting is limited to the newest, most active, and alphabetical channels.
